Sterling Silver Bow Mount
Stone: Utah Picasso Marble

The scene in this stone is truly wonderful. The scene is native to the stone. It is not painted.

The mount is my own invention, i wanted to create a mount that showed off the stone and not get in the way of the scene. I am very pleased with the design and the overall outcome. I have created many different types of D mounts, or Bow mounts as i like to think of them as. Creating uniquie mounts has been very exciting and often technicaly challanging.

For me, my art is often about contrasts. I think of the setting as the frame for my subject. Sometimes the stone needs to dominate, sometimes the silver work is central and the stone is an accent. Oft times both work in synergy. I love to find the balance in the contrasting artistic.

Interestingly enough, the setting has only one soldier point in the whole design.

Availability: This is a unique piece and is no longer available. I do have a few more sister stones left. Finding stones of this quality is very challanging.

What scene do you see? everyone has a slightly different interpretation, thats kinda neat.
As a side note, there has been virtually zero photoshop on this shot.

I love the setting you created for this piece, simple but with it's own style. I love how it showcases the stone without detracting from it's fabulous natural picture. Fabulous.

thank you very much for the understanding. I think it took me a week to figure out the design, and several prototypes to get the mechanics to work.

I have a bit more of this stone left, but i really have to find a great source for more cabs of any stone type out there that display this type of strong scenery. I have seen some stones with scenery go for $1500 before of this size. This piece sold instantly when i displayed it.

I've found some from various places for fairly cheap. You just have to be open and look everywhere. Try browsing the internet, I've seen some interesting picture jasper and picture agate for sale online. And you can't go wrong with the Tucson Gem and Mineral show, they have every stone under the sun and more.

I am quite curious as to how you assembled this setting. How's it attached on the back?
